The Lake Fairfax 250th Independence Day Celebration concluded successfully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, after being rescheduled from its original Saturday date due to the weather forecast. The event offered a unique and innovative experience by replacing traditional fireworks with a first-of-its-kind drone light show. This environmentally friendly and sensory-friendly display featured hundreds of synchronized lights that illuminated the night sky with bold imagery to honor both American independence and Fairfax County.
Attendees enjoyed a full day of festivities at the park, which included live musical performances and a variety of dining options. The live music lineup featured the School of Rock, The Sonic Boom, and The Reflex. Additionally, guests had access to numerous food trucks and drink vendors, including The Bike Lane Brewing, Spinners Deli, The Frothy Mug, El Chef Latino, UFO Smash and Chicken, Taha Ice Cream, and Farm Kettle Corn.
