Following a meeting at the Embassy of Nepal, officials have formally confirmed the embassy’s participation in the upcoming DT Fest 2026, scheduled to take place on October 11, 2026, at One Loudoun in Loudoun County, Virginia. The partnership was solidified during a strategic session between Chargé d’Affaires Sharad Raj Aran and a leadership delegation from 3E Entertainment, which included Suresh Sapkota, Prabin Bhattarai, and Prayash Bhusal. Celebrated as a premier cultural landmark for the region’s South Asian community, the Dashain-Tihar Festival is a multi-generational gathering designed to honor Nepali heritage, traditional music, and community engagement, drawing diaspora members and friends of Nepal from across the United States.
A central highlight of the newly solidified partnership is the introduction of a specialized festival layout concept presented by 3E Entertainment, which involves naming distinct event zones after Nepal’s iconic mountain peaks, such as Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and Dhaulagiri. Under this plan, the Embassy of Nepal will command an exclusive pavilion located within the prestigious “Mt. Everest Zone.” This dedicated space is designed to serve as a dynamic information and engagement hub, allowing diplomatic representatives to directly interact with attendees, showcase vibrant cultural artifacts, distribute educational resources about Nepal, and provide accessible outreach regarding essential embassy services to members of the diaspora.
During the meeting, Chargé d’Affaires Aran emphasized the profound importance of collaborating with the diaspora to build strong, sustainable bridges between Nepalis at home and abroad. Expressing high optimism for the current administration’s forward-looking approach to cultural diplomacy, 3E Entertainment lead Suresh Sapkota strongly advocated for the active, ongoing engagement of both the Embassy and the Nepal Tourism Board in high-profile diaspora events. Sapkota highlighted that DT Fest plays a critical role in reconnecting second-generation Nepali-Americans with their roots, a vital connection that organizers note will ultimately foster deeper community ties, honor a shared identity on the American stage, and provide a substantial boost to Nepal’s tourism industry.
