Kathmandu, Nepal – Sabina Bhattarai of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Mahankal, has emerged as one of Nepal’s leading Taekwondo athletes, proudly representing the nation in international competitions. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Sita Bhattarai, Sabina has remained dedicated to Taekwondo since 2067 B.S. and has built an impressive record through years of commitment and hard work.
A black belt holder and accomplished Poomsae athlete, Sabina has earned recognition in numerous national and international competitions. Most recently, she won a bronze medal in the Women’s Under-40 Individual Poomsae category at the 8th Asian Taekwondo Indonesia Open Poomsae Championships 2026 (G-2), held in Indonesia from August 1 to August 5, 2026. Her achievement further elevated Nepal’s presence on the international Taekwondo stage.
Beyond sports, Sabina has successfully balanced a professional career and community service. She holds an MBA degree and currently serves as a Senior Finance Officer at Digital Network Solutions. In addition, she is the Chief Instructor of Taekwondo at Bodhisadan Secondary School, where she trains and mentors young athletes. Her ability to manage professional responsibilities, coaching commitments, and competitive sports reflects remarkable dedication and discipline.
Sabina is also a mother of two daughters, making her journey even more inspiring. By balancing family responsibilities with elite-level athletic training and international competition, she has become a role model for aspiring athletes, especially women and young Taekwondo practitioners in Nepal.
Building on years of training, experience, and success, Sabina is now preparing to represent Nepal at the Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, scheduled to take place in Chuncheon, South Korea, from September 16 to September 20, 2026. Having started her Taekwondo journey in Mahankal, her path has now reached the world stage.
As she prepares for one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions, Sabina aims to deliver another strong performance and further strengthen Nepal’s reputation in international Taekwondo. Her journey continues to inspire athletes across the country and serves as a testament to perseverance, hard work, and national pride.
