The Everest Lions Cricket Club secured a hard-fought 30-run victory against the Robinson Rickshaws in their Washington Metro Cricket League (WMCL) Division 2 match held in Herndon this Sunday. After the Robinson Rickshaws won the toss and elected to bowl, the Lions managed to post a total of 101/8 in their 20 overs, bolstered by a top-scoring 33 from Binod Karki and a solid 25 from Bibek Karki.

In the second half of the match, the Everest Lions’ bowling unit dismantled the Rickshaws’ lineup, bowling them out for 71 in just 16.5 overs. Mahadev Bist led the defensive effort with an impressive performance, taking 3 wickets for only 9 runs, while Hari Babu Gautam and Nir Gurung each chipped in with 2 wickets to confirm the win.

Following the conclusion of the game, the teams gathered for a formal award ceremony to recognize individual excellence across various categories. A major highlight of the presentation saw Kevin Lalzare honored with two top distinctions, officially clinching both the “Best Bowler” and “Most Valuable Player” awards for his outstanding impact on the field.
