Kathmandu – India has extended emergency humanitarian support to Nepal following the devastating floods that have caused widespread destruction and loss of life across several districts.

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar announced that India has dispatched 10 tonnes of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) supplies, along with essential medicines, to support Nepal’s ongoing rescue and relief efforts.

In a statement shared on social media, Jaishankar expressed solidarity with the people of Nepal during the crisis, saying, “Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and all those affected. In face of this challenge, India stands with Nepal and its people.”

According to reports, the aid package includes essential relief materials and medical supplies intended to assist communities impacted by the floods and support emergency response operations. The assistance was transported aboard an Indian Air Force aircraft and forms part of India’s humanitarian response to the disaster.

The gesture comes as Nepal continues search, rescue, and recovery efforts in flood-affected areas, where hundreds of people have been displaced and many remain missing. India has reiterated its commitment to supporting Nepal during this difficult time and maintaining close coordination with Nepali authorities on relief efforts.

The announcement has been welcomed as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Nepal and India, particularly in times of humanitarian need.
