Kathmandu — The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has reassured travelers and international tourism partners that Nepal remains open for tourism despite the recent flood disaster that has impacted several parts of the country.
In a statement issued following the devastating floods, NTB expressed sympathy for affected families and communities, noting that the disaster has disrupted lives, homes, businesses, and livelihoods in impacted areas.

However, the tourism body emphasized that while certain regions have been affected, much of Nepal continues to operate normally, welcoming visitors and supporting travel activities across the country.
“Nepal is not closed,” the board stated, urging the global tourism community to continue visiting the Himalayan nation. NTB highlighted that every visitor contributes directly to local livelihoods and helps communities recover during this challenging period.

To support travelers and coordinate tourism-related assistance, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has established a dedicated Quick Response Team. In addition, a Tourist Information Desk has been set up at the Nepal Tourism Board in coordination with the Department of Tourism, Tourist Police, and private-sector stakeholders.

The desk will provide timely information, assistance, and support to tourists, ensuring visitors can travel confidently while recovery efforts continue in affected areas.
Tourism authorities say continued visitor arrivals will play an important role in supporting Nepal’s economy and helping communities rebuild in the aftermath of the disaster.
